Dr. Chen is the director of CATAS-CIAT Joint Laboratory in China. He is also director of root and tuber crop committee, Chinese Society of Tropical Crops and the president in "The Belt and Road" International Institute for Cassava Industrial Innovation.
Dr. Chen's research interests include cassava genetic breeding, cassava value chain, proteomics and protein-protein interaction, mechanism of crop tolerance to extreme stresses.
